  AMRDEC SED Senior Engineer/Analyst Position Description For Army Aviation Instructor Pilot
 Summary 
The Senior Engineer/Analyst is assigned to US Research And Development Engineering Command (RDECOM) Aviation and Missile Research Engineering Center (AMRDEC) Software Engineering Directorate (SED) at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Al.   The successful candidate will provide full-time on-site support and will be engaged in Army Aviation processes in a multi-functional environment. 
 Job Description:
The candidate for this position will provide flight operations and training subject matter expertise in support of the US Army Aviation’s Military Flight Operations Quality Assurance (MFOQA) system, and other automated aviation logistics and support projects.  The goal of the MFOQA system is to increase aviation safety by focusing on the areas of Maintenance, Operations, Safety and Training.  Candidate will also provide expertise in the areas of flight scheduling, pre-mission planning, mission briefing, risk assessment, mission execution, post-mission debrief procedures, Aircrew Training Manuals, Aircrew Training Procedures, and Commanders Task Lists. 
Education Requirements:
 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent is required and 12+ years of general experience is required with degree/18 years without degree.
  
 Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
 Candidates must have extensive experience as a U.S. Army Aviation, Helicopter Instructor Pilot.  In-depth experience with current aircrew training programs, policies and procedures is required.  Must be familiar with the Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS). 
  • Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.  Possession of an INTERIM SECRET security clearance is required to begin employment; Ability to maintain a SECRET security clearance is required for continued employment; US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to successfully complete Background Investigation to include; 50 State Criminal, Education, Employment, Credit and Driving Records Checks for continued employment
  • Ability to travel 10% or less.
 Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
 Aviation maintenance background or School trained Safety Officer is a plus.  Flight operations experience is desired.  Familiarization with on-board data collection devices and recent field experience is a plus.
