Software Test Engineer
Summary:
The Software Test Engineer is assigned to US Research And
Development Engineering Command (RDECOM) Aviation and Missile Research Engineering Center (AMRDEC) Software Engineering Directorate
(SED) at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Al. The successful candidate will provide full-time on-site support as a test engineer
for multiple Army Aviation applications and processes in the Military Flight Operations Quality Assurance (MFOQA) system of
systems.
Job Description: The candidate
for this position will serve as a member of the test team in support of the US Army’s Military Flight Operations Quality
Assurance (MFOQA) system, and other automated aviation logistics and support projects. MFOQA is a system
of systems consisting primarily of Microsoft Windows based Client/Server applications. The candidate will
work with Systems and Software Engineers to ensure that requirements are complete, testable, and traced
to the appropriate test case. The Test Engineer will be responsible for:
Evaluating the requirements produced by the development team,
creating the appropriate test cases/steps to properly test the product using automated testing techniques where appropriate.
Storage of testing artifacts
and status/reporting of progress to be performed using HP/Mercury Quality Center.
Conducting system/software tests to be conducted in accordance
with specified test plans and procedures using CM controlled test plans, procedures and test media as needed.
Ensuring that the test approach, content, and execution meets
quality requirements and that all test events are accurately recorded as test artifacts required by the defined process.
Ensuring that any system test failures are documented using
the proper Change Request procedure.
Providing status to test lead on tasks assignments.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is required. 2+ years of
related experience is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required Skills: Candidate must have solid knowledge in software development processes.
Candidate must be able to create test scenarios, test descriptions, and test reports from system requirements and test
plans. Candidate must be able to develop automated test scripts. Must have a strong technical aptitude and solid understanding of Software Development
lifecycles, systems analysis, and programming.
Must be able to obtain a SECRET
security clearance. Possession of an INTERIM SECRET security clearance is required to begin employment;
Ability to maintain a SECRET security clearance is required for continued employment; US Citizenship is required.
Ability to successfully complete Background Investigation
to include; 50 State Criminal, Education, Employment, Credit and Driving Records Checks for continued employment.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Software test automation/software
testing tools experience is desired. CMM level III or higher experience preferred. Army
aviation domain knowledge preferred.
