Software Systems Engineer – Web Application Developer

Job Description: 

The candidate for this position will provide Software Systems Engineering support for the next generation of Army aircraft maintenance software. Need is for a strong web developer with experience in developing and maintaining web applications in .NET, C#, and JavaScript. Development is in a Microsoft Windows environment utilizing Visual Studio. This is a web development position focused on business layer and backend, with potential for full-stack.

The software developer will:

  • Manage software application code using version control and problem tracking software expediently and accurately.
  • Develop and test clean, portable, well-documented code to produce a high-reliability application.
  • Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging.
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
  • Work effectively in an Agile software development (or adapted Agile) environment.
  • Perform development activities to be done in compliance with application development, database and middleware guidelines and standards.
  • Apply and promote good software engineering practices such as test automation, modularization, and simplification.
  • Optimize the application for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Implement security and data protection.
  • Follow emerging technologies.

Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Logistics Engineer- US Citizenship Required

As a member of our logistics engineering team, you'll be charged with improving product support through logistics engineering activities for Government customers. You'll use your interpersonal skills to develop lasting relationships with PM UAS technical and logistics personnel and leadership, key stakeholders in the AMRDEC, and various original equipment manufacturers (OEM), suppliers, and other government agencies (OGA) across government and industry. You will perform as part of engineering/analyst team to conduct analysis, interpret, and analyze requirements obtained/derived from customer. Responsibilities:

  • Perform Baseline Comparison Analysis; perform System Development and Sustainment Assessments of current and proposed design alternatives for supportability throughout the system’s lifecycle
  • Improve product support through logistics engineering activities to optimize identification and validation of cost, obsolescence, reliability, and logistics issues and requirement
  • Improve hardware and software depot activities, especially post production software sustainment (PPSS)
  • Assess impacts of process and product improvements or modifications to include supply and material stock and distribution, spares requirements, and modernization efforts to include development and coordination with production
  • Improve logistics processes; address cost, obsolescence, reliability, and logistics drivers; and resulted in implementation of processes, hardware, or software improvements that drive down program lifecycle costs.
  • Use of logistics and readiness data systems
  • Familiarity with lifecycle transitions, Contract Logistics Support (CLS), Performance Based Logistics (PBL), and/or organic systems
  • Identify technology opportunities for integration into the lifecycle sustainment development activities
  • Identify cost opportunities to “drive down” logistic costs in terms of future sustainment activities
  • Conduct research and analysis to perform weapon systems Business Case Analysis (BCA) as part of multi-disciplinary Aviation Fielded Weapon Systems Working Groups
  • Identify, research, and analyze data sources/databases to cite critical data and information for logistics engineering analysis for Key Performance Parameters (KPP’s) and Key System Attributes (KSA’s) in accordance with the PSEs for lifecycle sustainment planning
  • Support engineering teams to develop technology solutions
  • Develop and document task analysis that provide step-by-step procedures to perform: operational checks; preventive maintenance checks; remove and replace tasks; troubleshooting tasks and in documenting product structure.
  • Conduct Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
  • Perform logistics planning to include scheduling and determining resources for specific tasks

 Required Skills:

  • Experience is required with Army Aircraft or Prior Military Service to support a variety of Army Aviation Development, Integration, Sustainment and Logistics Engineering.
  • Experience performing as part of multi-disciplinary Aviation team/IPT/Working Groups
  • Systems engineering, requirements management, and project management experience
  • Experience navigating the AMCOM Army Working Capital Fund (AWCF) or similar

Army Aviation CBM+ Integrator and Systems Analyst

As an Army Aviation maintenance Subject Matter Expert (SME) and member of our team, you’ll be charged with planning and integrating US Army Aviation Condition Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) concepts, policies, and procedures for the practical integration, application, and implementation to improve future Maintenance and Sustainment programs. Responsibilities:

  • Liaison to internal and external stakeholders, to include DoD, Academia, Industry and field organizations/technical personnel for long-range planning and forecasting to support CBM+ strategic initiatives.
  • Provide a “field” perspective in regards to CBM, Digital Source Collectors (DSC) and CBM+ for USG customer and to higher echelons such as AMC and DA. DSCs include: Cargo Platform Health Environment (CPHE), Modernized Signal Processing Unit (MSPU) and Integrated Vehicle Health Maintenance System (IVHMS)
  • Management Tracking of Project/Tasks and Assess Project Risk.
  • Provide input and coordination with the USG customer in support of strategy development, changes to Army regulations, pamphlets, circulars and manuals.
  • Participate in Work Groups and provide recommendations for improvement, taking and tracking actions to closure.
  • Support customer requirements development for Program Objective Memorandum (POM) Inputs.

AVNIK is seeking a Software Developer/Programmer with minimum of 3 years experience developing front-end user interfaces for desktop applications (C, C#, Java, LabVIEW or other similar tools), SQL database knowledge, query analysis, and reporting services. 

Successful candidates should possess the ability to define and create a user interface for an existing SQLite database application. Candidates will also create queries and define analytical reports for display and export into multiple applications. They will also develop and maintains software development architecture and make recommendations for improving application efficiency. Identify programming language best suited to develop multiple user interfaces for an existing application. Writes program code, compiles, debugs, tests, deploys, documents, and implements programs for new and existing systems (COTS/GOTS/ custom developed). AVNIK is seeking a Mid-level highly self-motivated, creative, and organized 3D artist with a focus on creating low-poly, hard-surface models for immersive technologies.  Qualified candidates must be able to texture and animate realistic (but low poly) 3D models using photographs, schematics, sketches and input from subject matter experts. The candidate will work closely with a team to develop Mixed Reality/Augmented Reality applications. You will be involved in various aspects of creating training applications from concept to finished product including developing concepts, storyboarding, 3D modeling, UV mapping, texturing, and animating. Audio, design, and video editing tasks may also be given.  Development of 2D artwork may be required.
